The BSMB Spring 2014 meeting will be held in Bristol on April 7th and 8th, 2014, on the topic of “Building the Extracellular Matrix: Molecules, Cells and Evolution” and is being organised by Jo Adams. This meeting will focus on mechanisms and processes in Cell-ECM interactions and signaling, ECM structures and niches, and ECM-growth factor interactions. The programme will also relate these research areas to studies of the evolution of ECM organisation, that are providing new insights into understanding the complexity of functions of mammalian ECM throughout life and for applications such as synthetic matrices.

An exciting programme of internationally reputed speakers has been confirmed and will include a Keynote talk by Prof. Richard Hynes (MIT). There are many slots available for short talks that will be selected from abstracts and a BSMB Open session that will feature hot topics from any area of matrix biology. Also at this meeting, the 2014 BSMB Fell-Muir award will be presented to Prof. John Couchman.

The conference reception and dinner will be held at the M Shed museum in central Bristol, a new museum that focuses on the history of Bristol. Registration for this BSMB meeting will open early in 2014. Accommodation will be in local hotels. BSMB Presenter and Reporter Bursaries will be available for this meeting.
