Tumor targeting & radiotherapies network workshop

Extended deadline for abstract submission to June 14th, 2011.

The “Tumor targeting & radiotherapies network” of the Cancéropôle Grand-Ouest is glad to announce its fifth European workshop dedicated to young researchers (PhD Students and Post-Docs). This workshop will be focussed to the « Apoptosis, Angiogenesis & Hypoxia in Tumor Microenvironment: Biological aspects and Imaging » from the 5th to 8th of October 2011 in Berder Island, France.

Previous workshops were on “Quantitative Imaging and Dosimetry in Nuclear Medecine”, “Targeting and Imaging of the Tumor Microenvironment” and « Biology of ionizing radiation ».

The main objectives of this European workshop are to present the most recent advances in translational imaging and to discuss its application to explore the molecular mechanisms of apoptosis, angiogenesis and hypoxia in tumor microenvironment. Overview lectures will be given by experts in the scientific fields. Young researchers will get the opportunity of a first talk in a European meeting to present their research projects. In order to stimulate intense discussions between young and senior scientists, the total attendance is limited to a maximum of 60 persons.

The symposium is organized into 5 sessions held within 2.5 days. Each session will start with an invited expert summarizing the essence of a selected aspect of tumor microenvironment. Then, it will be followed by 6 oral presentations from young researchers, based on original data, and selected from proffered abstracts.
